The theme for our October contest is HORROR, PARANORMAL, SUPERNATURAL!
All things spooky, paranormal, supernatural, thriller, horror, or otherwise Halloween. All forms and lengths of flash fiction, short stories and poetry will be accepted as long as the story is under 2,000 words and the content is somehow related to these spooky genres.
How to Submit:
There are three ways to submit your work.
- Via Email:
- email your submission to contact.undergroundbookshelf@gmail.com
- include the contest you are submitting to, the name you would like to be credited under, and your pronouns
- Via Neobook:
- publish your completed story on Neobook
- include the hashtag #flashfictionfun so that other participants can find and read your work
- direct message the contest moderator (@LauraWrites), (include the contest you are submitting to, the name you would like to be credited under, and your pronouns)
- Via Booksie:
- publish your completed story on Booksie
- include the hashtag #flashfictionfun so that other participants can find and read your work
- direct message the contest moderator (@LauraWrites), (include the contest you are submitting to, the name you would like to be credited under, and your pronouns)

Contest Timeline:
- Submissions open October 1, 2024
- Submissions close October 27, 2024
- Winners announced on or around October 31, 2024.
Prizes: Winner/s have the option to to have their story/poem featured on the Underground Bookshelf website and social media platforms.
