Greetings Readers!
I recently tabled at the Trans Resistance Massachusetts Festival and attended Readercon, a convention geared towards writers of science fiction and fantasy. I'm taking a moment to share some of the resources I collected at these two events. Since these are two very different events, you'll find that the resources are also quite varied. Some are geared towards the LGBTQ+ community in general, and others will be specifically geared towards readers of sci-fi and fantasy. If you're interested in either of these things, read on!
- Consulting - Dani Chase is an LGBTQ+ activist and consultant. They host seminars on allyship. If you are looking for someone to work with people in a professional setting on being an LGBTQ+ ally, you can learn more about their work at https://mxdchase.com/.
- Amateur and Professional Writers and Creators Wanted - Freelance writer and illustrator, Luke Beatrice, is seeking writers for a fantasy and science fiction anthology with a focus on LGBTQ+ characters and themes. The project will be funded through Kickstarter. You can get in touch with Beatrice by emailing him at luciensbeatrice@gmail.com.
- Writing Workshop & Publishing Program for Rhode Island Veterans - Very specifically geared toward veterans living in Rhode Island, this is a free 14 week writing workshop hosted by the West Warwick Public Library. Learn more about this opportunity at https://www.wwpl.org/.
- All She Wrote Books - This bookstore is self-described as intersectional, feminist, and queer. They carry books across all genres that center underrepresented voices. They have a storefront in Somerville, MA and an online bookstore. Learn more about All she Wrote Books at https://www.allshewrotebooks.com/.
- Beneath Ceaseless Skies - This online literary magazine doesn't specifically center underrepresented voices, but it is a space for readers to find the works of lesser-known authors. This publication focuses on adventure fantasy, so if this is the genre for you, you can find their work online at https://www.beneath-ceaseless-skies.com/.

Image Description: A book is held open in a Caucasian hand. The image is angled from the top down, so that the book rests in the reader's lap. Only the reader's hand and legs are visible. Their legs are crossed under them.
