"Daydreamer" by Murielle Chery
Genre: magical realism, poetry
My breath went in,
My breath went out.
The world grew quiet
It harshness shut out
Locked behind my power of imagination,
I see sea stars in space clouds while I ignore my education.
I created in my world of twilight's veil;
I conceal my visions away from work hell.
A swoosh rips through the air,
A smack breaks what streams from my mind.
I wake up with my eyes already open;
I come back in what I thought was just in time.
My body was left alone to be.
I hear mumbling all around me,
My body here, my heart afar,
A scattered brain, a free-spirited star.
