Blue Sky Rain (a poem)

The sky swallowed me

before I could feel the rain

rushing through the air

suspended between intent

and gravity

inherently divine and wise

to tendons and warm skin

liquorish sweet rain

dark rain blue

rain of yesterday

the trickling down of moments

the soundclock of timeless existence

as the drop of destiny

landed on parched soil

of an orchard too far to mention

and too close to oblivion’s infinite grace,

sky swallowed me

before I could feel the rain

rushing through my veins

a trickling stream a gushing river

and the raging ocean--

swallowed by a cloudless blue sky

before I could feel the rain.
